Role Overview

The IT Managing Director is a senior executive responsible for shaping and executing the technology vision for Microtech Leaders. This role ensures alignment between IT strategy and business objectives, driving innovation, operational excellence, and compliance across all technology functions. The IT Managing Director oversees internal IT operations and service delivery, ensuring secure, scalable, and customer centric solutions that enable growth and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish governance frameworks for IT decision making, risk management, and compliance.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and trends to inform strategic investments.

Service Delivery & Operations

  • Oversee delivery of Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Security Operations Center (SOC), and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) services.
  • Define and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Implement ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, NYDFS).
  • Lead cybersecurity strategy, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Maintain audit readiness and manage risk assessments across all technology domains.Cloud & Infrastructure
  • Direct cloud architecture and infrastructure operations for scalability and resilience.
  • Optimize hybrid environments and ensure high availability of critical systems.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud native platforms.

Data & Platforms

  • Champion observability, automation, and data driven decision making.
  • Oversee enterprise data platforms, analytics, and integration strategies.
  • Ensure data governance and security across all systems.

Financials & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring value and compliance.
  • Evaluate technology investments for ROI and alignment with business priorities.

People Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and retain high performing technology teams.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Define career development paths and succession planning for key roles.

Client Engagement

  • Act as executive sponsor for strategic accounts, ensuring technology solutions meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align IT initiatives with customer success.
  • Represent technology leadership in client meetings and industry forums.Qualifications
  • Experience: 12+ years in IT leadership roles with proven success in enterprise technology strategy and operations.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of MDR/SOC/XDR services, cloud architecture, and automation frameworks.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Hands on experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, NYDFS, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Process & Methodology: Strong understanding of ITIL practices and service management principles.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage multi million dollar budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to lead diverse teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, ITIL Expert, or equivalent credentials highly desirable.
